I'm back home! This Georgia peach has flown south for the summer and is reveling in humidity! It is so wonderful to be performing with Peach State Summer Theatre once again. This season, I have the great pleasure of playing the title role in Mary Poppins, Peggy Sawyer in 42nd Street, and Ensemble in Smokey Joe's Cafe.
Though I am immensely enjoying all 3 roles, playing Mary Poppins is indeed a dream come true! I grew up watching Julie Andrews and imagining my own jolly holidays. Learning to fly has definitely been an amazing bonus of the role. I hope this is only the beginning of more air time!
Running shows in repertory fashion is always a challenge and this summer proves to be no different. The long, needed rehearsal hours seem unending at times, but there is always fun to be had. Bonding with new cast mates, making memories, and laughing and learning along the way make the whole process worth the sweat. Having opened all 3 shows, the schedule has opened significantly, though we still sing and dance our hearts out 7 times a week. They like to keep us busy down here! But it is truly amazing to be able to do what you love and hope you inspire others around you to do the same.
Come see the magic!
Now playing through July 27th in Valdosta, GA!
